Japan Winds To Carry Nuclear Radiation To The U.S. West Coast
According to accuweather.com following Friday's major earthquake 9.1 east of Japan, fears were raised of radiations leaks and nuclear meltdowns at power plants.
The wind direction may impact where the radiation
goes both at a local level and even across the globe and even reach Los Angeles, Seattle, Honolulu, Anchorage in U.S.
The wind direction at both of these locations are similar since the Onagawa power plant is located just to the northeast of Fukushima power plant.
"The exact direction of the winds would have to be known at the time of the release of a large amount of radiation to understand exactly where the radiation would go," according to Expert Senior Global Meteorologist Jim Andrews.
It is unknown when a large release of radiation would occur, if at all, at this point.
"You can calculate how long the release of a radiation would take to cross the Pacific from Japan to the U.S. by choosing different speeds that the radioactive particles might be moving and using the direct distance between given locations- say Sendai, Japan, and Seattle, Wash.," Andrews added.
However, even that calculation may not reflect how long the particle would take to cross the Pacific, since it would not likely cross the ocean in a direct path. This is the case because the wind flow is often a complicated pattern.

ReplyDelete#1 reactor explosion did emit a radiation plume.
The public was only aware of it when the Aircraft Carrier Ronald Reagan was exposed to this plume of a MONTH or more of radiation in 1 HOUR (740X normal..) Helicopters 'coated in fallout' The Navy has protective gear and aware of the risks and still 70 crew had to be treated and the ships moved.
So it was NOT TRUE 'no radiation of any consequence' had emitted from Fukushima #1. And it appears even the USA Navy unknowingly sailed straight into it unaware until they hit it which is very disturbing.

Fukushima #3 is much larger, (these are very large reactors) and it contains MOX - a high mix of Plutonium from recycled war weapons.
The Fukushima #3 later explosion was many times more severe that #1.
Much of the MOX fuel in #3 was known to be exposed.
MOX consists of in part extremely dangerous toxic plutonium and other mass death material recycled from nuclear warheads. Material deliberately designed to circulate, swirl and spread - and kill all life - on a massive, wide sustained, fast & long term scale. In the MOX are the most toxic and dangerous substances ever known incl old material subsequently banned (why its being recyled, why so many protests about it)

So now you now have to believe in the case of Fukushima #3 - this stuff wasnt released, and wont be released, and consider what actually happened with #1 when they said the same, but it was.

And it can take less than 48 hours to carry across to North West America (Alaska to LA) not 11 days. It depends on the particles, explosions and how it spreads into the various wind layers.
