According to the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony's official website,"the Opening Ceremony is a celebration showcasing the best of the host nation. It also features a parade of all competing nations and the highly anticipated entrance of the Olympic flame, which ignites the cauldron and signals the start of the Games."
This year's three-hour Olympics Opening Ceremony "will kick off with the sound of the largest harmonically tuned bell in Europe, produced by the Whitechapel Foundry, and the stadium will be transformed into the British countryside for opening scene 'Green and Pleasant', which includes real farmyard animals. The ceremony will also include a special sequence celebrating the best of Britain, featuring volunteer performers," according to the London Olympics website.
Friday’s opening ceremony starts at 9 p.m. in London, or 4 p.m. ET. NBC’s television coverage in the U.S. won’t begin until 7:30 p.m. in New York, or 12:30 a.m. in the host city, whose pubs will of course be completely empty by then.

ReplyDeleteI was there. Awesome, no sign of ET yet, oops I forgot its on the 11th.
ReplyDeleteThis is the weakest opening ceremony I have ever seen. Disappointing when compared to Beijing; or am i being harsh.
ReplyDeleteIt has been removed.
ReplyDeletenone of the links are working for me, could your repost the live stream?
ReplyDeleteWasn't able to watch the live stream this afternoon cause I had to work. Its now 8pm here in California and I still cant find anywhere online to watch the opening ceremony replay cause of NBC's greed.....every site I try its blocked by EMI or Olympic Committee, etc.....rrrrrggggggg.....really folks does it need to be this difficult in 2012.
ReplyDeleteIm happy you guys got to see it. Enjoy the 2012 Olympics everyone!!!! CHEERS!!!
I'm embarrassed by the utter lameness of the actual ceremonies, but even more by Matt Lauer & Meredith Veira. The Chinese understand spectacle, This is overblown dumb-show and bad close-up crap. WHY did they give this task to a film director?
ReplyDeleteGood luck to all countries... Go CANADA Go!!!

ReplyDeleteOMG wtf I cant watch the opening ceremony because ppl wanna claim its theres? ITS NOT. Its everyone's! This is so wrong.
ReplyDeletethe opening ceremony was crap sorry but it was he presented it as a film rather than a play - if the commentator had not told us what on earth was going on we the viewers would not have had a clue, it was very demonic too, esp the bit about the NHS and all the demons in spiritform came out.
ReplyDeleteWe as Christians call them demons you would call them aliens and there are many varieties...incidently, saw a UFO on the saturday morning(after 1 am) after the ceremony ended ,it was brightly lit and had rows of light on the top and bottom and a bit in the middle, i knew it was not a plane as we live near the city airport (Greenwich side of it) and planes go by everytime and this thing did not make a noise like a plane. It didnt move quickly or slowly across the skies i actually had expected it to move quicker. Anyway i pleaded the blood of Jesus and then went to bed. I had expected to read or hear something about it the next day but there was nothing , until now when i came across it here and on huff post.
FuSEEk you international copyrights, I just wanna watch the opening ceremonies.
