9/11 13th Anniversary : Nationwide Communications Outages & Emergency Drills Planned For September 11, 2014

According to the latest news report there will be planned outages taking place all across the nation on 9/11.

Yes I said that date right — 9/11 of all days! 

This scheduled maintenance is being pushed on the anniversary of one of the worst attacks in U.S. history leaving many without power or internet for a period of time. As the terrorist threat level rises many will be unable to contact their loved ones. But that’s not all, add to that the fact that multiple emergency drills are happening all across the country and there seems to be a coordinated effort to prevent communication.

Some of these outages, like the one at UC San Diego will last all day, from 6AM – 5PM. I found that a high number of universities, including the University of Iowa as well as Michigan State, will be without internet that day, regardless of the fact that it’s a work day, and a school day for our nation’s tuition-indebted students.

I’ve included links and screen captures but you really can’t even begin to grasp the scope of this thing until you search for it yourself.

It seems that portions of nearly every federal agency, police department, and even volunteer fire departments will be engaged in some kind of disaster training on 9/11/14.

One could argue that this is a good thing. At least they’re all present and accounted for should some terrorist attack actually occur.

On the other hand, fewer officers on the street make it easier for terrorists to execute a plot successfully.

Given the amount of planning that would be required to to pull off an attack on American soil, it’s reasonable to assume that any would-be perpetrators may have also stumbled upon this data and used it to their advantage when picking a target. Conceivably, they would have chosen a community that’s also conducting First Responder training on the same day, thereby compounding the weaknesses and exponentially increasing the potential for tragedy.

This isn’t rocket science. We don’t need specialized training in guerrilla warfare or terrorism tactics to see how reckless it is to drastically reduce our defenses on the one day of the year that we need them most.

Don’t forget, the Daily Mail reported last week that terrorist forces in Libya have acquired 11 commercial airliners after taking control of the airport in Tripoli. The article also relayed that US Government officials were worried that the planes could be used in a second 9/11 attack this Thursday.

We can’t help but ask the question, is there some sort of coordinated effort to prevent communication?
